We are your Dynamometer Specialists!
We are the Northwest’s Premier All-Wheel-Drive Chassis Dynamometer Facility!
DynoAuthority – a branch of FAME Automotive – is the Northwest’s headquarters and number one choice for automotive performance measurement and high performance tuning (check out this great video from Xbox)! We are the experts at premium dynamometer services.

We can also provide high performance power tuning to maximize your performance upgrades or standard tuning to keep your car within its optimum state of operability.
Using our state-of-the-art dynamometer, we can perform:
- Verification Tests

- Emissions Testing
- Timing Tests
- Performance Testing
- Diagnostics
Whether your vehicle is an AWD, RWD or FWD – whether it’s a high-end luxury vehicle or souped-up sports car, our dynamometer services can maximize your vehicle’s performance and give you a better ride.

We Do 160 mph – Standing Still!

So what exactly is a dynamometer? If you’ve ever been through emissions testing, then chances are you’ve already experienced being on one. The common definition of a dynamometer is, “an instrument for measuring mechanical force.”
A dynamometer has a set of rollers built into the machine. A vehicle is mounted and secured onto the dynamometer and the rollers allow the vehicle to be “set in motion” – for example, we can get your vehicle going at 160 mph, but standing still!
DynoAuthority’s dynamometer is unique in that it does more than just spin your wheels and spit out some calculations. Our dynamometer provides a real-world simulation, including wind resistance, so that your vehicle performs as it would on the street. This gives us the ability to precisely measure, test and tune your vehicle for the real-world environment.
Our dynamometer has a state-of-the-art microcomputer-based control system that provides for real-time data logging of torque, horsepower and speed parameters, air-fuel ratio, engine RPM, boost, exhaust gas temperatures, and complete five-gas concentration readings under load. With this high-tech computer system, our professional technicians will be able to precisely measure and tune your vehicle to optimum engine performance.
We can perform a complete battery of tests for diagnosing vehicle performance and drivability problems.

Diagnostic tests allow you to diagnose drivability complaints quickly and easily without ever leaving the shop.
Verification Tests
Verification tests are tests run by the system to ensure the results are accurate. The motors are warmed up, and several system tests are performed to ensure the results will be accurate.
Emissions Testing
Our emissions tests can help you prepare for a Washington State vehicle emissions test, help you modify your vehicle to make it pass next time, and give you information about a possible problem.
Timing Tests
All of the timing tests available with our state-of-the-art dynamometer use a patented Virtual Inertia Technology. The term “Virtual Inertia” means that the dynamometer control software takes into consideration the test vehicle’s weight and aerodynamic characteristics to apply the exact loading to simulate actual “real world” driving conditions. So the result you see on the dynamometer are nearly identical to the results you will see on the road.
Performance Testing

We can perform a number of tests for high performance testing and tuning. Using tests such as programmed torque and programmed speed in conjunction with analog inputs gives us the ability to tune a vehicle’s engine for optimum performance.
Diagnostics
We can perform a complete battery of tests for diagnosing vehicle performance and drivability problems. Diagnostic tests allow us to diagnose drivability complaints quickly and easily without ever leaving the shop.
