Brad Bean

Founder, FAME Automotive

Brad started working on bikes and go-karts at the age of 8. He has been mechanically inclined since then and loves to understand how things work.

Brad worked in a body shop in high school doing mechanical repairs to pay for painting his two 1969 Camaros, attended technical college in Utah, then moved back to his home state, Washington.

He went to work for Mercedes Benz in Seattle for two plus years starting in 1979 as a Technician, then Service Advisor before going back to his father’s company, Pay N’ Save Corp, helping with a transition in the Ernst Hardware sporting goods department conversion to a small automotive parts department. When Schucks Auto Parts became the major auto parts division of the corporation, Brad went back to what he loved…working on cars.

He and his wife started their own shop March 15th, 1985 in Kirkland, WA and built it from there. In 1993, FAME Automotive moved to Redmond knowing that it was a good place to expand. In 1999, Brad and Tim built DynoAuthority, the Northwest’s first all-wheel-drive chassis dynamometer facility for testing, diagnostics, computer tuning & manipulation.
